A 3-foot ball python that went missing at Dartmouth College several days ago has been found thanks to a small dog.
Daisy is a 4-year-old Jack Russell-Dachshund mix. She and her owner, Vicky Moors, live at the Tabard House at Dartmouth where the python went missing last week. Tuesday night, Daisy got on the trail of the snake and alerted fraternity members. The python was located outside, next to the house, in a small hole.
"She just really wanted to attack it," Moors said. "And it is pretty cute because at first I was kind of scared that the snake would hurt her possibly, I didn't really remember how big it was or able to picture a 3-foot python because she is kind of a rodent size."
The python is now back in its cage where it belongs. It is not a poisonous snake and experts say its escape did not pose a threat to the public.
